Healing Hands for Kids: Bringing Hope to Children and Families Facing Serious Illness
Healing Hands for Kids is a nonprofit organization based in Mexico that has supported children with serious illnesses and their families for more than 18 years. The organization operates pediatric patient shelters near hospitals in Mexico City and Monterrey, community feeding programs for vulnerable children, and a free medical clinic that provides care and basic medications. Through these initiatives and other support programs, Healing Hands for Kids works to provide dignity, care, and hope to families facing difficult circumstances. The presentation will share the impact of these programs and how community partnerships help transform the lives of vulnerable children and their families. |

Helping Youth Thrive: What Science Says About Mental Health and Resilience
How do stress, anxiety, and life circumstances shape the developing minds of youth? In this talk, Dr. Warren will share new research on how the brain’s “braking system” for behavior develops in adolescence, and how factors such as family stress, socioeconomic conditions, and support networks influence mental health and resilience. The talk will also explore the implications of this work and emerging ideas about how schools, families, and community organizations might use this science to better understand and support youth. |

Seeing the Invisible: Real-Time Imaging at the Frontiers of Science and Medicine
Dr. Ou will share how his research bridges fundamental physical principles with cutting-edge advances in genetics and molecular biology. By developing innovative imaging platforms, his work enables scientists to observe materials and biological processes as they occur in their natural environments. This ability to “see the invisible” in real time is opening new possibilities in scientific discovery, healthcare, and technology, offering insights that were once beyond reach. |
